What legal work needs from a signature
The signature is the easy part. What matters is showing later who signed, what they saw, and that nothing has changed since.
A link forwarded to the wrong person
Require a one-time code by email or SMS before the document opens. It shows the signer controls that inbox or phone.
Showing the document hasn't changed
The PDF is sealed on completion. Any later edit breaks the seal, visibly, in a PDF reader.
A record someone could quietly edit
Each event is a hash-chained entry the database refuses to update. Rewrite one and every hash after it stops matching.
Evidence locked inside a vendor
The sealed PDF and its audit certificate are files you keep. They still prove themselves if you leave.
Where legal teams use it
In firms and in-house. These are the documents they send most.

- Every field belongs to one named signer
- Signing order across both sides
- Sign for your side in the editor
- Encrypted before it is written to disk
Word files are converted to PDF when you upload them.
Each signer confirms the inbox or phone you sent it to
A one-time code goes to the signer's email or phone before the document opens, and their consent is recorded before they sign.
- Verification by email or SMS
- Consent to sign electronically, recorded
- No account needed for the other side
- Void it before anyone signs if the terms change
Signer verification is on Personal and Business.

What kind of electronic signature is this?
A simple electronic signature, backed by a sealed PDF and an audit certificate. It is not a qualified electronic signature under eIDAS, so it isn't the right tool where the law asks for one.
What does the audit certificate record?
Every event on the document: sent, opened, consent given, verified, signed and completed. Each entry has the time, the email address and the IP address, and the entries are hash-chained.
Why does Acrobat show a warning on the seal?
Our seal certificate is self-issued, so Acrobat says the signer's identity is unknown while confirming the file hasn't changed. You can add our certificate to Acrobat's trusted list; the security page shows how.
Which documents can't be signed here?
Wills, deeds, powers of attorney, negotiable instruments and court or family-law papers, and contracts for an interest in land such as leases and sales of property. Our terms rule them out, and every send asks you to confirm the document isn't one of them.
Where are documents stored, and who can open them?
Each file is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is stored. Our admin tools can't open documents. The security page lists everything we do and don't do.
Do you have SOC 2, ISO 27001 or SSO?
Not yet. If your firm's procurement requires them, we are not the right fit today. What we do have, and don't, is listed on the security page.
Can you sign a DPA with us?
Yes. Ask on the contact page and it comes back in writing, along with any security questionnaire you need filled in.
